Workshop on Incidents and Illness at Workplace

The implementation of a strong system for recording incidents in the workplace is vital to reduce any risk of occurrence. With immediate notification and documentation of accidents and illnesses, it will enable the implementation of preventive measures and ensure compliance under Workplace Safety and Health Regulations. The matter was among those shared during the National Workshop on Recording and Notification of Occupational Accidents and Diseases. The workshop was held at a hotel in the capital.

Speaking at the workshop, Awang Haji Noryasmin bin Haji Mohd Noor, Acting Director of Compliance and International Affairs Division, Safety, Health and Environment National Authority, SHENA said that proactive approach can help to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, aside from ensuring affected workers receive timely medical attention and support towards recovery. The workshop included group discussions and presentations aimed at coordination on occupational safety and health and improving data
quality.
