The Danger of Istidraj

?The rewards from Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala come in many forms which we need to be thankful for as the blessings and sustenance endears a person to Him. Favours, blessings and rewards from Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala are often misunderstood, so that some are arrogant and do not carry out His commands and orders. The matter was among those included in the Friday Sermon titled, ‘The Danger of Istidraj’.

The Imam or prayer leader said when people forget about Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala and do not heed His commandments, prohibitions and warnings, then Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala can only open the door of istidraj to them. Istidraj is one of the favours that Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala bestows upon servants who are negligent towards Him. The favour of knowledge, wealth, rank and health is seen as a form of happiness, but it is actually a test in the form of a tactic or trap.
