Ramirez’s Stellar Performance Leads Perpetual to Victory Over Iloilo in Spikers Turf Invitational

MANILA — In a gripping match at the Paco Arena, Louie Ramirez demonstrated remarkable skill, securing a career-high 38 points, propelling Kinto Tyres-Perpetual to a victory against D'Navigators-Iloilo with a close 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 24-22 score in the Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference on Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Spikers' Turf media team, Ramirez executed 35 attacks, two aces, and one block, leading Perpetual to improve their record to 2-1 and securing the second place in Pool A. The reigning NCAA MVP was instrumental in the team's success, with Perpetual head coach Sammy Acaylar acknowledging his effort: "He gave everything, of course." Acaylar remarked on Ramirez's achievement and encouraged him to showcase his relentless energy in the game, drawing from his experience and accolades.

The match was pushed to a tense fifth set after D'Navigators' tenacious effort, but Acaylar's call for focus and true character paid off. With the Altas trailing in the final set, Ramirez and teammate Jefferson Marapoc scored pivotal points, overturning the deficit and clinching the win. Marapoc's contribution included 14 attacks and four blocks, while Michael Medalla added nine points with an impressive five blocks. Perpetual also displayed strong defense with John Philip Pepito and Klint Mateo achieving 13 and 11 digs, respectively, and John Christian Enarciso providing 14 excellent sets. Iloilo's team effort was led by Deanne Neil De Pedro with 17 points, supported by Kyle Angelo Villamor and others who scored double digits, while Vince Lorenzo showcased his defensive skills with 17 digs and 18 receptions.
