President Marcos Urges Filipinos to Contribute to Realizing ‘Bagong Pilipinas’
MANILA: In a move to foster national development and unity, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has called upon every Filipino to play an active role in achieving the vision of “Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines).” This appeal was made in his latest vlog released on Saturday, where he emphasized the importance of personal and collective efforts in this endeavor.
According to Philippines News Agency, the realization of this vision hinges not only on government actions but also on the contributions of every citizen. In his vlog, the President shared his own New Year’s resolutions, which range from personal goals such as spending more time with his family, maintaining good health through regular exercise, and being more cool-headed in driving, to broader objectives aimed at national betterment.
Highlighting the centrality of these resolutions, Marcos stated, “Pero siyempre, nangingibabaw sa ating New Year’s resolution ang mga mithiin natin sa bayan dahil marami pang kailangang gawin, marami pang kailangan pagandahin, at marami pang kailangan ayusin para naman tuluy-tuloy ang pagsulong natin tungo sa isang Bagong Pilipinas.” He underscored the importance of individual and community involvement in achieving the administration’s goals.
The President pointed out that attaining ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ requires the transformation of every Filipino into a ‘Bagong Pilipino,’ embodying the aspirations of the nation. He suggested practical steps for Filipinos to start this journey, such as observing punctuality, being productive in work, spending prudently, improving personal grooming and self-discipline, and becoming responsible citizens and family members.
As the country observes Community Development Day, Marcos reminded citizens of the significance of enhancing local communities. He announced plans to intensify efforts to engage everyone in beautifying their barangays, cities, provinces, and the entire nation.
“Susunod na linggo ay lalo niyo pang mauunawaan at mararamdaman ang ibig sabihin ng Bagong Pilipinas,” the President remarked, hinting at forthcoming initiatives that will deepen the understanding of this national vision.
He concluded by reiterating the idea that the creation of a New Philippines is contingent upon the emergence of a New Filipino, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between national progress and individual transformation.
