Philippines Expands PPP Projects to PHP 3.03 Trillion with New Initiatives


Manila – The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center has announced the expansion of its project pipeline, now totaling PHP 3.03 trillion. This update includes 13 new unsolicited proposals, adding to the previously approved 121 projects, signaling a significant increase in collaborations between the government and the private sector.



According to Philippines News Agency, these new projects encompass a wide range of sectors and regions. Notable additions include various digital traffic enforcement initiatives in Sta. Rosa, Cainta, Caloocan, and Cauayan Cities, alongside healthcare projects like the Philippine National Cancer Registry’s digital infrastructure and the establishment of hemodialysis centers in Iloilo. Infrastructure projects such as the Pampanga Bulk Water Supply and Cavite Bus Rapid Transit System also make the list.



Jeffrey Manalo, deputy executive director of the PPP Center, highlighted several advanced projects poised for imminent awarding. These include the PHP 23.40 billion Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway extension, and upgrades to the Laguindingan Airport in Northern Mindanao valued at PHP 12.75 billion. Other key projects nearing completion are the New Bohol International Airport, the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital Cancer Center, and the Dialysis Center at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.



Manalo also indicated that projects like the Bislig City Bulk Water and Septage Project, along with the Negros Occidental Bulk Water Supply Project, are expected to be awarded by late 2024 or 2025.
