Pengkalan Batu Community Holds Briefing on Human-Crocodile Conflict


PENGKALAN BATU – The Mukim Pengkalan Batu Consultative Council, in collaboration with the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Department and the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, conducted a briefing and dialogue session on human-crocodile conflict issues at the Pengkalan Batu Primary School on the morning of August 3rd.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the session aimed to enhance local understanding of the causes of human-crocodile conflicts and shared crucial safety procedures and precautions for residents to follow when in crocodile habitat areas such as rivers and beaches. The briefing also included contributions from the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Fire and Rescue Department. Additionally, a mini exhibition showcased crocodile capture techniques developed by the Wildlife Division. Yang Berhormat Awang Zainol bin Mohamed, a member of the Legislative Council, was present at the event, emphasizing the importance of community awareness and safety in crocodile-prone areas.
