CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Clement Ordeneza and Zero Plete triumphed in their respective divisions at the ICTSI Junior PGT Mindanao Series, clinching their spots in the upcoming Junior PGT Matchplay Championship. The golf tournament, held at Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club on Wednesday, showcased young talents in the 13-15 age category.
According to Philippines News Agency, Ordeneza dominated the boys' division with a notable 10-under 206, outpacing Alexis Nailga and Luciano Copok, who finished with scores of 225 and 236, respectively. The 14-year-old from Little Me Academy attributed his success to a strong start and improved putting skills over the three-day event. In the girls' division, Plete won with a total score of 235, ahead of Mikela Guillermo and Stephanie Tagud, who scored 269 and 319. Despite feeling physically weaker than in her previous tournament at Del Monte, Plete managed to maintain her performance to secure the title.
Both Ordeneza and Plete are set to participate in the Junior PGT Matchplay Championship scheduled from October 1-4 at The Country Club in Laguna, where they will join other regional leg winners like AJ Wacan and Johanna Uyking.
