Opening of World Town Planning Day Celebration.
Bandar Seri Begawan: Land use Planning drafts are not only used as reference documents but also as a platform in generating collaboration between government and private agencies, in driving together progress in an integrated manner. Therefore, there is a need for the drafts to be constantly updated and monitored, as well as being dynamic to ensure relevance and ability in facing the challenges of current progress. The matter was emphasised by the Minister of Development during the Opening of the World Town Planning Day at the national level, 14th November morning. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Development. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda Bin Haji Abdul Rashid then shared that the Department of Town and Country Planning has held several dialogue and discussion sessions with stakeholders and committee under the Planning Authority in efforts to strengthen the approach of land use planning and inclusive progress control.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Minister ad
ded that the Department of Town and Country Planning needs to strengthen its capacity in terms of legislation and strategy in building financial capacity to ensure that the development programme that has been proposed in the planning drafts can be implemented according to the timeline set.
Organised by the Department of Town and Country Planning, the celebration aimed to disseminate the role of land use planning and development control towards sustainable development. An exhibition is held for three days, starting on 15th of November until the 17th of November, at Times Square Shopping Centre in Berakas.
