MANILA — The National University Bulldogs clinched their second win in the 2024 V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge, overpowering Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals with scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-15 at Paco Arena on Sunday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Michaelo Buddin spearheaded the Bulldogs’ effort with a total of 17 points, including 13 attacks, three blocks, and one ace, contributing significantly to the team’s quick victory in just one hour and thirteen minutes. Team captain Leo Aringo added 13 points, primarily through attacks, and also contributed with nine excellent receptions and five digs. This win follows NU’s opening victory against Perpetual Help on July 31.
NU Coach Dante Alinsunurin highlighted the ongoing development within the team, noting the importance of game experience for new players and emphasizing the need for better cohesion to minimize errors. Other notable performances included Obed Mukaba and Jan Llanfred Abadillad, who scored six and five points respectively, while Greg Augustus Luis Ancheta made 13 excellent sets.
On the opposing side, Jan Ruther Abor led the Generals with 14 points, and Frelwin Taculog added seven, but their efforts were insufficient to avoid a second loss. EAC previously lost to the Ateneo Blue Eagles and is set to face De La Salle University on August 14.
