CAGAYAN – Workers in Northern Mindanao will see an increase in their daily minimum wage starting January 11, with an initial rise of PHP33. This increment is set to be implemented in tranches, the first being PHP23 effective on January 11 and an additional PHP10 from July 1 onwards. Director Erwin Aquino of the Department of Labor and Employment Region 10 announced this development during a media briefing on Friday.

The decision, which was published in a local daily newspaper on December 26, 2023, also extends to 54,851 domestic workers (‘kasambahay’) in the region. Furthermore, around 267,305 full-time workers in the region, who earn above the minimum wage, will also be impacted by this change.
