North Korea Issues Warning Over US Spy Plane Activities

Pyongyang – North Korea has issued a stern warning to the United States following the recent overflight of a US reconnaissance aircraft over the Korean Peninsula, describing it as a precursor to “unpredictable disaster.”

According to Philippines News Agency, the US Air Force’s RC-135U Combat Sent conducted surveillance flights near North Korea’s southern border after departing from Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. The flights, which took place on Tuesday, are part of what North Korea characterizes as near-continuous monitoring and reconnaissance activities by the US. The KCNA commentary also criticized the upcoming joint military exercises scheduled for August between South Korea and the US, labeling them as provocative and reckless. This military posturing comes amidst heightened tensions, with North Korea sending balloons filled with refuse and attempting a failed spy satellite launch earlier this week. North Korea asserts that these developments compel it to enhance its self-defense capabilities to counter perceived threats from the US and its allies.
