No Filipinos Injured in Jeddah Building Collapse

JEDDAH—In the aftermath of a building collapse in central Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, no Filipinos have been reported injured. Officials from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Jeddah confirmed on Sunday that their initial assessments at the collapse site and local hospitals found no Filipinos among the injured.

According to Philippines News Agency, eight individuals were rescued from the debris of the collapsed structure, which affected 13 apartments across five floors in the densely populated Al-Faisaliah district. Early reports suggest that maintenance work in the basement may have triggered the collapse. The MWO-Jeddah has stated that it will maintain close communication with Jeddah police and emergency services to ensure the ongoing safety of Filipinos in the area.
