Napocor: No spilling ops in Binga, Ambuklao dams
MANILA: The water levels of most dams in the country are in their normal high level, and no spilling operations were reported as of Wednesday afternoon.
“All spillways gates po ni Ambuklao and Binga Dams are closed po (All spillway gates of Ambuklao and Binga dams are closed),” National Power Corporation (Napocor) Dams Management Department officer-in-charge Maria Teresa Serra said in a text message to the Philippine News Agency.
As of 12 noon, the water level in Ambuklao Dam reached 748.72 meters above sea level (normal 752 meters) while Binga Dam’s level measured 572.06 meters (normal 575 meters)
Other dams such as Angat, Caliraya and San Roque’s water levels were 189.47 meters above sea level (normal 210 meters), 287.14 meters (288 meters) and 254.58 meters (575 meters), respectively.
Earlier, La Mesa Dam’s water level reached 80.19 meters, breaching its spilling level of 80.15 meters. The average basin rainfall forecast was moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall.

cal and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the overflow would affect areas along the Tullahan River.
Meanwhile, PAGASA expects rains to continue across Luzon for the next three days due to the enhanced southwest monsoon.
