73.8 percent of the country’s citizens and residents have received the third dose vaccination, while 4.6 percent have received the fourth dose. The Minister of Health shared the matter during the Brunei Darussalam COVID-19 Media Conference, yesterday afternoon. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, also informed that 77.6 percent of second dose vaccinations were administered to children aged 5 to 11 years old, with 51.5 percent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old receiving the third dose vaccination. Joining the media conference were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.
Yang Berhormat said that the number of cases in Categories 4 and 5 remained low. Today, there are no cases in Category 5, while 7 cases are in Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring. Meanwhile, 1,694 cases are confirmed to have recovered bringing the total number of recovered cases to 178,306. In the past 24 hours, 1 COVID-19 case has passed away, whereby the case is categorised as death not due to COVID- 19. The public are reminded to upload their ART results, whether positive or negative in the BruHealth app to assist the Ministry of Health monitor the infection situation.
