Media Conference on COVID-19 New Normal

The number of COVID-19 cases reported in Brunei Darussalam is stable at an average rate of about 1,667 cases per day. A total of 65,240 ART results were uploaded to the BruHealth app within one week, of which 17.8 percent were positive. The matter was shared by the Minister of Health during the Media Conference on COVID-19 New Normal, yesterday afternoon AT Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar also explained that the number of cases in Categories 4 and 5 remained low. Yesterday, a total of 2 cases are in Category 5, while 3 cases are in Category 4 with 2,012 new cases recorded. Also joining the Media Conference, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.

Similar to the previous week, over 99 percent of the cases detected within the past week are in Category 1 or 2 and do not require hospital treatment. As of yesterday, 11th July 2022, the COVID-19 vaccination coverage in Brunei Darussalam continues to increase. 73.7 percent of the country’s citizens and residents have received the third dose vaccination, while 4.2 percent received the fourth dose. 77.2 percent of second dose vaccinations were administered to children aged 5 to 11 years old; and 51.3 percent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old have received the third dose vaccination. The public are reminded to upload their ART results, whether positive or negative in the BruHealth app to assist the Ministry of Health monitor the infection situation.
