Makati City Sees Marcos’ PFP Form Strategic Alliance with Sotto’s NPC

Makati City - On Saturday night at Makati Diamond Residences, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) formally entered into a strategic alliance with the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), aimed at advancing the nation's development. The event was attended by top figures from both parties, including former Senate President and NPC chairperson Vicente Sotto III, PFP president and South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos.

According to Philippines News Agency, the chairperson of PFP, this coalition, dubbed 'Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas' (Alliance for a New Philippines), is committed to a unified vision under the current administration's governance brand, 'Bagong Pilipinas.' He highlighted the partnership’s emphasis on the country's progress and described the alliance as a durable, equal partnership formed out of the necessity to unite for the greater good, not as a marriage of convenience.

Marcos outlined the alliance's readiness to serve and its intention to exceed expectations, aiming for a future filled with promise and potential. He emphasized that their ultimate goal goes beyond political success to establishing a Philippines that is economically vibrant, stable, inclusive, and hopeful.

Sotto commented on the alliance’s foundation, stressing the parties' shared desire for genuine unity and continued positive change. He noted the NPC's historical support for the presidency and its readiness to support the PFP agenda, with its nearly 4,000 members, including 1,910 incumbent officials. The NPC holds five seats in the Senate and 38 in the House of Representatives.

This alliance follows a recent agreement between the PFP and the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), the largest party in the House of Representatives. Marcos has voiced the necessity of collaboration between the executive and legislative branches to introduce and implement transformative policies, particularly to position the Philippines advantageously in the new economy.
