‘Lakastah Bersedia’ Initiative Launched to Boost Retirement Planning.
Gadong: The ‘Lakastah Bersedia’ initiative, unveiled at The Mall in Gadong, is a strategic effort by the Employees Trust Fund (TAP) to bolster retirement planning and enhance financial literacy among the nation’s citizens. The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, emphasized these goals during the launch event. He highlighted TAP’s proactive role in encouraging its members to extend their savings beyond the National Retirement Scheme (SPK) annuity. This can be achieved through voluntary contributions or by exploring a range of financial products and services. The Minister further stated that such initiatives not only address immediate financial needs but also contribute significantly to building a robust and secure financial future for individuals approaching retirement.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the two-day event showcases TAP’s retirement planning programme, specifically d
esigned for TAP members who are expected to retire in the next 10 to 15 years. Additionally, the TAPCERT programme will be made available to financial planning practitioners, furthering the initiative’s reach and impact.
