The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Arts and Calligraphy Studies Centre is organizing the Khat or Islamic Calligraphy Competition which will end on the 30th November 2021. The competition aims to identify and highlight locals talented in calligraphy. It also hoped to produce Muslim youths in the country able to master Islamic Art, especially Islamic calligraphy.
According to Dayangku Siti Nurul Iryani, the calligraphy competition this time around is divided into 2 namely Traditional and Contemporary categories. Meanwhile the prizes for both categories are $2,000 cash price for First Place and $1,500 for 2nd Place; 3rd place $1,500 each for two Consolation prizes.
