ITU Regional Asia-Pacific CyberDrill 2024 Conference Kicks Off in Brunei.
Bandar Seri Begawan: Cyber Security Brunei (CSB) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) are organizing the 2024 ITU Regional Asia-Pacific CyberDrill. The three-day event will be held until 21st November 2024. The event, aligned with the ITU Regional Initiative for Asia and the Pacific, aims to enhance communication, incident response capabilities, and collective efforts among Asia-Pacific Computer Security Incident Response Teams to mitigate cyber threats.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was officially inaugurated by Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Deputy Minister for Security and Law at the Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Chairman of the National Cybersecurity Committee. In his welcoming speech, Awang Shamsul Bahri bin Haji Kamis, Interim Commissioner of CSB, stated that the event provides an invaluable opportunity for cybersecurity peer learning, strengthening cybersecurity capacity, and regional collaboration. It also aims to enhance the region’s collective cyb
ersecurity response capabilities. The event took place at a hotel in the capital.
This initiative is a significant step towards fortifying the cybersecurity framework in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on improving coordination and knowledge-sharing among member states. The conference is expected to bring together experts and stakeholders from various sectors to discuss and strategize on the evolving challenges posed by cyber threats.
