GRU Golden Jubilee Celebration Witnessed by Sultan of Brunei.
Sungai Akar: His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the Gurkha Reserve Unit, GRU Golden Jubilee Celebration at the Sungai Akar Camp Parade Ground. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence.
According to Radio Television Brunei, shortly after arriving, His Majesty received the Royal Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour. Doa Selamat was read by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Acting Director of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Department, JAMA’AT.
His Majesty then proceeded to witness arena performances as part of the jubilee celebrations.
