Grab PH names new country head
Manila: Grab Philippines (Grab) is under new management as Ronald Roda was appointed the new country head of the ride-sharing and super app company.
In a statement on Monday, Grab announced the appointment of Roda as the replacement of Grace Vera Cruz who has moved into a regional position as head of regional corporate strategy after serving as country head for four years.
‘This planned succession is part of Grab’s commitment to nurturing talent and demonstrates the depth of Filipino leadership in the organization,’ it said.
Roda was most recently the chief operating officer of Grab and led the GrabCar business for over six years.
‘Under his leadership, Grab expanded its reach from eight cities to over 200 cities in the Philippines since 2018, making Grab’s services accessible to millions more Filipinos,’ it said.
It highlighted his role in helping Grab adapt when GrabCar was shut down during the pandemic and the creation of 72,000 livelihood opportunities in the first half of 2024, bringing the total to
270,000 since 2023.
‘I am honored to take on the role of country head for Grab, and I am committed to continuing the great work and building on the strong relationships established under Grace’s leadership,’ he said.
On the other hand, Vera Cruz will continue to be based in the Philippines in her new regional position to ensure smooth transition and operational continuity.
‘Her ongoing presence signifies her continued commitment to supporting the Philippine market and strengthening Grab’s long-standing partnerships,’ it said.
