Floods Render 24 Metro Manila Road Sections Impassable

METRO MANILA—Continued heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Carina have led to the closure of 24 road sections across Metro Manila, rendering them impassable to all types of vehicles.

According to Philippines News Agency, the advisory released at 8 a.m. lists flooded roads in several cities including Manila, Quezon City, Taguig City, Makati City, San Juan City, and Mandaluyong City. Notable flooded areas include Bluementritt Road, España Boulevard, and multiple sections of Taft Avenue in Manila; Quezon Avenue in Quezon City; C-5 Road in Taguig City; and EDSA in Makati City near Orense.

The DPWH-NCR has mobilized maintenance crews across these areas for declogging canals and waterways, clearing the roads, and conducting continuous monitoring and response operations. This includes major intersections and underpasses that are critically affected, such as the Lagusnilad Underpass in Manila and Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City.
