Five Companies Fined for Illegal Dumping Under Miscellaneous Offences Act.

Bandar seri begawan: Five companies faced compound fines for violating Section 12(1) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, as separate operations were conducted from October 21st to November 2nd, 2024. Hup Soon Brickworks And Ceramics Private Limited, RS Yasin Sdn Bhd, Payara Sdn Bhd, and Miftah Contractor and Developer each received $2,000 fines, while TSS Enterprise was fined $1,000.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the owners or managers of these companies have been ordered to immediately settle the fines and clean up the areas converted into illegal dumping grounds. Failure to comply will result in court proceedings, potentially leading to penalties up to $3,000 for individuals and, for companies, up to $30,000 or imprisonment for up to 12 months, or both.
