Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen Day Celebrated in Gadong.

Gadong: Farmers, Livestock Breeders and Fishermen Day is celebrated every 1st of November to appreciate and celebrate the contributions and services of the farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen in the country who have sacrificed, worked hard, and are committed to ensuring that the country’s food security is achieved. Themed ‘Memperkasa Produk Tambah Nilai, Pemacu Ekonomi Negara’, or Empowering Value Added Products, Drivers of the National Economy, the 14th celebration was held at Pasar Kitani, Rimba Agribusiness Centre, Gadong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, among those present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. Mass sales are the main activity held for three days, starting on 2nd November 2024. The sales highlight locally produced products from the agriculture, fisheries, farming, and agrifood industries. Various activities are provided including exhibitions and briefing sessions. The event, which is join
tly organised by the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Department of Fisheries, is open from 8.30 in the morning to 4.30 in the afternoon.
