Digital Platform for Zakat Property Savings Launched to Facilitate Tithe Payments.

Bandar Seri Begawan: Muslims in the country will find it easier to fulfill their obligation to pay the ‘Zakat Harta Wang Simpanan’ or Property Savings Tithe with the launch of an online tithe payment platform on 21st November 2024. The ‘e-Zakat Harta Wang Simpanan’ platform is an initiative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs together with Datastream Digital Sendirian Berhad, DST, to increase awareness of e-services to the public in realizing the strategic Digital Economy Master Plan 2025.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Di-Pertua of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. The e-Zakat service is open to Muslims in the country and does not require registration. Users only need to fill in all the necessary information in the e-Zakat service through the website ‘e-zakat.dst.com.bn’.

Payment can be made anytime a
nd anywhere using Easi, Mobi, or Debit Cards. The ceremony took place at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
