CHED Announces Closure of Five Programs at St. Vincent De Ferrer College

CALOOCAN — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has officially phased out five academic programs at St. Vincent De Ferrer College of Camarin (SVDFCC) in Caloocan due to academic deficiencies.

According to Philippines News Agency, the decision follows the institution's non-compliance with a 2021 order to phase out these programs. Despite the order, the college reportedly continued to enroll students. CHED has taken measures to inform the public by posting notices on the college premises and around the city. The affected programs include Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Secondary Education.

De Vera emphasized that SVDFCC is no longer authorized to offer these degree programs and has been prohibited from accepting new students into these courses since the first term of the 2022-2023 academic year. CHED has advised students who are currently enrolled in these programs at SVDFCC to contact CHED-NCR for assistance and guidance on their next steps.
