The ‘Bannou Cake’ brand brush and shoe brush labelled ‘Berus Jerman’ sold in business premises in the country have been confirmed to be made from pig bristles. The finding was the result of an analysis by the Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health from an inspection by the Syariah Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In this regard, the Syariah Affairs Department has ordered business owners and managers to immediately separate all the brushes from sale to the public. Owners, managers, entrepreneurs, retailers, suppliers and importers of products and consumer goods are also reminded to be vigilant and sensitive to imported products and consumer goods sold to the public.
