Brunei Royals Attend Singapore Premier League Match at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium


BERAKAS, BRUNEI — The Singapore Premier League match between Brunei DPMM FC and Albirex Niigata FC drew royal spectators on the night of August 10th, as His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei, and his family attended the event at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. The game ended in a goalless draw, with both teams showcasing strong defense but unable to score.



According to Radio Television Brunei, Permanent Secretary for Sports at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the royal family’s presence highlighted the national support for Brunei’s football scene. The Crown Prince was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, along with their children, reflecting the family’s interest in the sport. The royal family was greeted upon arrival by key figures in Bruneian sports and football administration, including Awang Haji Feisal bin Haji Mohd Eusoff, President of the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam.



Brunei DPMM FC is scheduled to continue its campaign in the Singapore Premier League against Geylang International FC at Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore, on August 24.
