Brunei Holds Village Head Elections in Brunei Muara and Belait Districts.


Brunei: The voting and selection process for village head candidates took place in two distinct locations, focusing on the communities of Brunei Muara and Belait Districts. In the Brunei Muara District, the event was conducted at Pulaie Primary School, catering to the residents of Kampung Anggerek Desa and Kampung Pulaie, Mukim Berakas ‘A’, on the morning of December 1st. The sole candidate for the position was 33-year-old Awang Muhammad Zariful Hanafi bin Haji Abdul Rahim. The event was attended by Awang Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri, the Acting Brunei Muara District Officer, along with Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Daud bin Jihan, a Member of the Legislative Council.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Belait District hosted its village head voting and selection for Kampong Pandan ‘C’ at the Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School in Kuala Belait. The Acting Belait District Officer, Awang Haji Amir Azman bin Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Setia Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahman, was pr
esent at the event, alongside Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman, another Member of the Legislative Council. In this district, two candidates were eligible for the village head position: Awang Muhammad Nurfaisal bin Ismail, aged 38, and Awang Abdul Fa’iz Ariffin bin Haji Awang Mohamad, aged 30.
