Brunei Darussalam Undergoes Fourth Trade Policy Review at WTO.
Geneva: The World Trade Organization (WTO) held its fourth Trade Policy Review (TPR) of Brunei Darussalam from November 27th to 29th, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland. The TPR is a routine exercise mandated by the WTO, where member countries’ trade and related policies are scrutinized and assessed at regular intervals to ensure transparency and compliance with international trade protocols.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Brunei Darussalam delegation was led by Dr. Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, who is the Permanent Secretary for Economy, Trade, and Industry at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. The review also included monitoring significant developments that could impact the global trading system. For Brunei Darussalam, these reviews are typically conducted every seven years, following the WTO’s standard review cycle for developing countries.
