Baguio City Treasurer Encourages Public to Utilize Online Tax Services

BAGUIO, Philippines – The city government of Baguio has urged its residents to take advantage of online platforms for tax transactions, aligning with the ‘ease of doing business’ initiative. This move aims to streamline processes and reduce the need for physical travel to the city hall or Baguio.

According to Philippines News Agency, in an advisory issued on Friday, taxpayers can handle applications and payments for business and realty taxes, community tax certificates (cedula), and other fees online starting January 2, 2024. This can be done through the Baguio in My Pocket (BIMP) application or the eBPLS Portal at www.ebpls.baguio.gov.ph.

Cabarrubias clarified that only those taxpayers who face issues with their business tax assessments or real property statements, which cannot be resolved online, or those without online records, will be catered to at the treasury office in city hall.

To minimize crowding at the City Hall One-Stop Shop, a strict schedule based on family or corporate names has been established for the assessment and payment of business permits. The schedule is as follows: January for names starting A to H; February for I to P; and up to March 20 for Q to Z, including names starting with numeric or special characters.

Cabarrubias emphasized the importance of adhering to these instructions, noting that those who do not follow the scheduled timeline will not be entertained. This directive is part of Baguio City’s broader effort to enhance service efficiency and promote convenience for its taxpayers.
