ASEAN Conference Highlights Role of Laboratory Medicine in Industry 4.0 Era.


Jerudong: The 18th ASEAN Conference of Clinical Laboratory Sciences commenced with a strong focus on the integration of digitalization and technological advancements in the field of laboratory medicine. The Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, emphasized the importance of laboratory medicine in diagnosing, monitoring, and controlling infectious diseases, particularly in light of the changes accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the opening ceremony, he highlighted the necessity for new diagnostic methods and smart technologies that are reshaping the healthcare landscape.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the conference, themed ‘Laboratory Medicine in Tomorrow’s Healthcare Landscape,’ aimed to gather specialists and researchers from various Clinical Laboratory Sciences disciplines. This event provided a platform to enhance participants’ knowledge in advanced Clinical Laboratory Sciences as part of the effort to contribute to Wawasan Br
unei 2035. Held at a hotel in Jerudong, the seminar underscored the demand for faster diagnostics with timely, accurate, and quality results to enable better interventions and treatment.
