Al-Qur’an Memorisation and Interpretation Competition Marks His Majesty’s 78th Birthday Celebrations


CAPITAL CITY — The Al-Qur’an Memorisation and Interpretation Competition was a highlight of the evening’s festivities on July 26th, commemorating His Majesty’s 78th Birthday. Held in the capital, the event was organized by the Students Affairs Division of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB, and featured nine student participants.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the competition aimed to showcase the profound understanding and memorization skills of the students in the context of religious study. The evening also included a Tausyeh performance, contributing to the celebration’s spiritual ambiance. Meanwhile, other districts participated with their unique cultural contributions; Kuala Belait hosted performances by PEKERUPA, and Tutong District enjoyed an Indonesian Islamic Cultural Performance, attended by dignitaries including His Excellency Professor Doctor Achmad Ubaedillah, the Indonesian Ambassador. Additionally, Temburong District’s festive stage was highlighted by the Inter-Mukim Azan Competition, focusing on discovering new talents in the art of the Call to Prayer.
