Active Weather

Members of the public are advised to take precautionary actions with respect to the forecasted active weather condition. Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department informed that Tropical Storm ‘TRAMI’ has been observed near the Philippines, around 1,600 kilometres away from Brunei Darussalam. However, Tropical Storm ‘TRAMI’ is expected to indirectly influence the country’s weather.

Windy condition is expected in the upcoming days, with potential gusty showers to occur especially at sea and coastal areas. Wind gust of up to 60 kilometres per hour is expected during or near heavy showers. While over the Brunei waters, generally sea condition is at moderate to rough state, with wave height of 1 point 2 to 2 point 5 metres. Strong winds may damage unstable structure with increased risk of falling trees and blown off roofs and possibly landslides to occur during gusty and heavy showers conditions. Risk of flash floods may also occur especially at the low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near the river bank
s during continuous heavy rain and also during high tide. Rough sea state is dangerous for all small boats operations and recreational activities at sea.
