ABAC Meeting

Brunei Darussalam remains to be a firm believer in APEC’s cooperation, which has been beneficial to its members and the overall region. The APEC Policy Support Unit in its February 2023 Publication, has highlighted the benefits of APEC’s engagement. Growth has soared with real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) more than double from approximately just 19 trillion U.S dollar in 1989 to 52.8 trillion U.S dollar in 2021.

In a keynote address during the ABAC Meeting Opening Plenary Session’, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stated total merchandise trade increase, with more than two-thirds of this trade occuring between member economies.

The ABAC Plenary is part of the Brunei Economy Programme hosted by the APEC and ASEAN Business Advisory Councils of Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and in partnership with leading public and private sector organisations.
