32nd IBTE Convocation, Morning
Close cooperation between industries and the technical and vocational education and training, TVET institutions needs to be further strengthened to ensure that graduates remain competitive the global arena, especially in the critical technical areas. The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism said the country requires teaching staff who are not only highly skilled in the technical field, but also always innovative and able to keep up with the rapid development of technology. Speaking at the 32nd Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE Convocation, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin also stressed that in the 4th Industrial Revolution era, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, AI, Internet of Things or IoT and Big Data Analytics require a change in the way of working and interaction.
Yang Berhormat said TVET graduates need to be ready in facing new challenges and make full use of the opportunities offered by the 4 point 0 industry. This includes mast
ering digital technology, developing new skills related to automation, and the capability to work with the increasingly sophisticated systems.
899 graduates from various programmes received their certificates and diplomas. The ceremony was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, 29th October morning.
