14th KUPU SB Convocation Ceremony Celebrates 225 Graduates.

Berakas: 225 graduates received the Doctor of Philosophy, Masters, and Bachelor’s Degrees, as well as Diplomas at this year’s Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB Convocation Ceremony. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as Chancellor of KUPU SB, conferred the degrees and diplomas to the graduates. The ceremony took place at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, and Associate Professor Doctor Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, Ra’es of KUPU SB.

The graduates presented the reading of Surah Ali-Imran verses 190 to
194. In his welcoming speech, the Ra’es of KUPU SB discussed the latest developments, including the international recognition for the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Religious Teaching. His Majesty then proceeded to confer the degrees and diplomas to the graduates.

Of the 225 graduates, 2 received Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 3 received Master’s Degrees, 38 received Postgraduate Diplomas, 94 received Bachelor’s Degrees, 93 received Higher National Diplomas, and 22 received Diplomas.

As the only University College in the field of Religious Education, KUPU SB is responsible for producing pious, highly skilled, and marketable educators and leaders. Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti.

Before departing, His Majesty was briefed on the development of the KUPU SB Mushaf. KUPU SB will continue to be committed to developing a fair and inclusive quality education for all levels.
